MERGER

2020 Baseball Season

Central Little League and Eastern Little League are merging associations for the 2020 season in all leagues and divisions. This combination of play will offer numerous benefits to the players, coaches and parents of both associations.

Here are some of the benefits of a combined League:

  1. More players and teams at every division and therefore more games/divisions within our new league.
    1. This is positive because it will lessen our dependence on interleague games, decreasing travel time. Better use of resources and volunteers.
  2. We will have cost savings in our equipment and field maintenance purchases and the shared use of resources.
    1. Additionally, we’ll have more efficient use of volunteers which is the livelihood of little league baseball.
  3. More opportunity for all-star and summer tournament play. Having a larger player pool will make forming competitive all-star teams easier on every level of play.
  4. More Fun for Everyone: - Inaugural “Parent Night” to meet your coach/team for a pizza night along with the management of the organization.
  5. End of the Year Intra-League Championship tournaments in most divisions.
  6. More teams within the league and access to more fields.
  7. Games will be played both at Central and Eastern fields.
  8. Assessment of 9 year olds and above where players show their baseball skills through hitting, throwing and fielding drills while coaches evaluate them in preparation for drafting their teams.
  9. These assessments will be held during the weekends which information will be provided when those dates become available.

There have been changes in the baseball community and both associations felt this was an opportunity to grow Little League Baseball once again for the future of our kids.

If you are interested in participating as a board member please email [email protected] by 02/03/2020 as we would like equal representation from each league moving forward.

We will be using SportsEngine moving forward for sign-ups and future communication for the league.
